The Society of Actuaries sponsors professional
interest groups, known as sections, that have been formed around
common issues related to an area of practice or special interest.
Members of the SOA and fellow industry professionals can join one
or more sections, which encourage and facilitate career and
personal development.
Membership offers you a range of participation
levels—from simply keeping current with industry trends to
becoming a leader of a dedicated team. As a member of any of these
knowledge communities you will have the opportunity to benefit
from:
Networking
Interacting with fellow professionals with similar interests and
challenges as yours.
Information Sharing
Identifying and communicating information and ideas on current
emerging issues and trends.
Publications
Keeping up with trends through publications from section interest
areas. Contributing articles to section newsletters, Web sites and
publications of the Society.
Professional Education
Participating in a variety of educational forums focused on today's
most relevant and pressing challenges. Creating section-sponsored
sessions at events and industry seminars. Contributing ideas to
better define the basic and continuing education needs of
actuaries.
Research
Sponsoring and participating in research activities. Accessing
research that provides you with new insights, information or tools
to enhance and improve your work.
For more details, proceed to the individual section Web pages pertaining to your fields of interest.
