42nd Actuarial Research Conference Presentation Prize Winners
Announcing the winners of the 42nd Actuarial Research Conference (ARC) Presentation Prize!
Congratulations to the winners of the ARC Presentation Prizes for their superior presentations! The presentations were judged in two separate categories: presentations by graduate students and presentations by other presenters.
The winners in the category of Graduate Student were:
- First ($500)–Diane Chisholm (U of Waterloo), for her presentation entitled, "Negative Effects of the GIS Clawback and Possible Solutions"
- Second ($300)–Paul Johnson (University of Wisconsin–Madison), for his presentation entitled, "Mitigating the Impact of Endogeneity in Healthcare Data via Multilevel Models"
- Third ($200)–Kai Chen (Robert Morris University), for his presentation with Mary Hardy, entitled, "The Cost Control on a DB Underpin Hybrid Pension Plan"
The winners in the category of Other Presenters were:
- First ($500)–Marjorie Rosenberg (University of Wisconsin–Madison), for her presentation entitled, "A Bayesian Two–Part Predictive Model for Health Care Costs Using Individual–level Data"
- Second ($300)–Arnold Shapiro Penn State University), for his presentation entitled, "Fuzzy Random Variables"
- Third ($200)–David Saunders (University of Waterloo), for his presentation with Claymore Marshall, entitled, "An Approach to Valuing Guaranteed Minimum Income Benefit Riders"
